Night at the Gallery

(Meetings - Episode 2)

film
2024

In a contemporary art exhibition, artworks come to life around closing hours, expressing their deeply dwelling fears, desires, and frustrations concerning gallery visitors.

This short film, rooted in the philosphy of speculative realism, makes the second attempt toward inventing "object-oriented cinema" shifting focus from human narratives to the perspectives of non-human entities, challenging viewers to reconsider art and perception. The previous and first "episode" of Meetings, presented in the International competition of Oberhausen Film Festival, was made in the genre of a fiction film and focused on everyday objects, while this second film is at the intersection of fiction and post-documentary form and focusing on art works.
